What is Bowen Therapy?
The Bowen Technique is an extremely effective form of body therapy that stimulates a powerful healing process within the body. It is unlike other body therapies. It is a subtle but precise muscle/nerve/connective tissue therapy that is revolutionising health care around the world.
How does it work?
Bowen therapy resets the body to heal itself. The work consists of a series of gently rolling connective tissue moves, using a light touch. Many of the points are linked along meridians on energy pathways. Some points relax us, some stimulate sluggish internal organs.
There are frequent important pauses between these moves, which give the body time to benefit from each set. By combining moves, in both placement and combination, the therapist is able to address the body as a whole or target a specific problem.
The Bowen technique is a complementary therapy. This means it will enhance and complement, not interfere with, other medical attention. However, the effectiveness of continuing Bowen work can be undermined if other manipulative therapies are used immediately after a Bowen session.
