About Herbal Medicine
Is herbal medicine safe?
I have experienced very few side effects from the medicines that I prescribe and I have been qualified since 1990.
Herbs should be used with caution and should not be consumed randomly. If there is any doubt about what and how much you
should be taking, please consult your qualified herbalist.
There are many herbs that can be used regularly, i.e.,
peppermint, chamomile, nettle and many more. However, there are herbs that must be taken at a specified dose. Use only herbs that are familiar to you
and seek advice if using any other herbs. Top
Can I take herbal remedies if I am taking medicines prescribed by my GP?
It really depends on what medication you are taking. For example, if you are on a course of
antibiotics, it is advisable to finish your
treatment before starting to take herbal medicine.
Herbal medicine can be very supportive in helping the body to heal and can work alongside the medication that your doctor has
given you, very well.

Is herbal medicine suitable for everyone?
Yes, everyone can benefit from herbs. Make sure you are familiar with the uses of the herbs you wish
to use. If there is any doubt please contact your nearest herbalist. Top
What can herbal medicine offer that conventional medicine can't?
Herbal medicine can help all conditions by cleaning and clearing areas in the body that are stagnant. They offer nourishment and support
where needed.
Debris is flushed out of organs which enable them to function properly.
As the whole plant is used there are less side effects than conventional medicine and the body can use the herbs efficiently and effectively
for the repair process which it requires. Top
What can I expect at a consultation?
A first appointment is usually made for one hour and subsequent visits are approximately for three quarters of an hour.
Some conditions are related to allergies to foods and chemicals and it is useful to carry out an allergy test to determine
the cause. The method used is Applied Kinesiology using muscle testing. Top
What if I can't attend?
If you are unable to attend please give at least 24 hours notice. Whilst we are sympathetic to genuine difficulties, the consultation fee will
otherwise be payable. Top
What dosage are your treatments?
The standard adult prescription requires 100ml of herbal medicine to be
dispensed each week of treatment. Young children may only
require half this amount.
Dried herbs for "teas" may be prescribed together with tablets, capsules and ointments.
Prescriptions are dispensed on the premises at the end of each consultation.
Repeat prescriptions may sometimes be dispensed for existing patients without formal consultation. Under these circumstances a small
dispensing fee is applicable. Payment must be made immediately upon receipt. Postage may also be chargeable.
Please bring your bottles back for recycling. top
How long is a course of treatment?
The course of treatment will vary on each patient and what treatment you receive. After 2 or 3 consultations, this will be clearer on how well you respond to your treatment.
